Philips CD-i 220
We carried out a repair and general service on a Philips CD-i (Compact Disc Interactive) system. The main fault was with the CD tray mechanism, which was failing to open and close properly. Upon inspection, we found that the drive belt had become stretched and worn over time, resulting in a loss of grip.
We replaced the faulty belt with a new one of the correct size and type, ensuring the tray could move smoothly again. In addition to this, we gave the unit a full service—cleaning the internal components, checking for any loose connections, and lubricating the moving parts where necessary, we also disassembled and cleaned the remote control and repaired some corrosion damage on the battery terminals. After reassembly, we tested the system and confirmed that both the tray and the CD drive were functioning correctly. This repair restored the CD-i to full working order.
