Roland FP-30X Digital Piano Repair
This Roland FP-30X Digital Piano was brought in by a 2nd year Southampton University student. The piano had suffered liquid damage and wouldn’t power on. Upon receiving the piano, we conducted a thorough initial assessment to determine the extent of the damage. It was clear that liquid had seeped into critical components, particularly affecting the main circuit board, where corrosion was disrupting the electrical pathways essential for proper operation.
We carefully disassembled the piano to begin the repair. The next step involved using specialized cleaning solutions to treat the affected areas, effectively removing any traces of corrosion and dried residue left by the liquid. We tested the circuit board connections to ensure their integrity had not been compromised and discovered some damaged minor components We replaced these components and were hopeful that this would be a successful restoration.
After full reassembly, we conducted rigorous tests to ensure that the Roland FP-30X powered on and responded correctly to all inputs, including sound output and digital functionality. The customer was overjoyed with the outcome, their cherished piano was restored to its original working condition. The final cost, £100, covered the labour, cleaning solutions, and any necessary replacement components which the customer found fair and reasonable.
