Eumig 824 Sonomatic 8mm Film Projector
Fixing the 8mm film projector was a pretty unique experience, mainly because we don’t usually deal with stuff like this. When we first checked it, we quickly realised that the film wasn’t moving properly because a bunch of random objects had gotten stuck in the film path. Since these old-school projectors are more complicated than modern devices, we had to carefully take apart some bits to reach and remove the obstructions.
Each object was taken out cautiously so we didn’t damage anything delicate inside. After sorting that out, we ran a full test to ensure it was working as it should. During the process, we also noticed that the lamp had blown, but luckily the customer had a spare, so we swapped that in as well.
The customer was really happy with the repair, especially since the projector meant a lot to them. We charged £65, which was just for the labour, and they thought it was a reasonable price. Overall, we managed to bring the projector back to life and showed that we’re serious about delivering top-notch service, always making sure to meet the specific needs of each customer and their belongings.
